Elite League round-up: Panthers edge out Clan to reach the last four

Nottingham Panthers completed a 6-4 aggregate victory over Braehead Clan to secure their place in the semi-final of the Elite Challenge Cup.

Alex Nikiforuk (2) and Robert Farmer got the goals as Nottingham sealed a 3-1 success in the second leg.

Belfast Giants fought back from a two-goal deficit to earn a 3-3 draw at Manchester Storm in the first leg of their quarter-final.

Trevor Johnson put Manchester in front early in the second session, but Jeff Mason quickly tied the game.

Mario Valery-Trabucco and Matt Bissonnette made it 3-1 before the 30 minute mark, before Steve Saviano reduced the deficit to one late in the period.

Chris Higgins made it 3-3 after 48 minutes to leave next Tuesday’s second leg in Belfast finely balanced.

Sheffield Steelers moved back up to second in the league after a 4-2 home victory against Dundee Stars.
