But the Clan boss is looking at the positives as he prepares to come up his former Sheffield Steelers team-mate Tim Wallace’s Panthers team who are priming themselves for a shot at the title.

“In their building we’ve won two out of three and taken five points out of eight points so far so we’re looking to continue that good form on Wednesday.

“At the moment we’re in a dog fight for a playoff place and we’re still determined to finish as high up the table as possible.

“Everyone is fully focused on the 12 remaining EIHL games.and we’ve experienced a lot of peaks and valleys this season, which has been frustrating.

“When we play to our standards, we can compete against anyone in this league, but right now, we urgently need to find some consistency, play like there is no tomorrow and battle for every single point that is available to us.

“We will leave everything that we have on the ice, this team is up for the battle and we are hungry to finish the season on a high.”
