Netminder Richard Ullberg will be back between the pipes for Guildford Flames next season.

The former Finnish U20 International joined Flames part way through the last campaign and helped the club claim the EPL Cup and end-of-season play-off title.

“I’m looking forward to getting back to Guildford for next season and being with the team from the start,” he said.

“I really enjoyed my time in Guildford and can’t wait to come back and try to get all three trophies.”

Head Coach Paul Dixon added: “In the crucial cup and play-off games, where elimination was a consequence of defeat, Richard was as good as we could have hoped for by any netminder.

“He made a vital contribution to the trophies we were able to secure, and we are excited that he is interested in staying with us for another season.

“Prior to arriving in the middle of January, he had not played for an extended period and I think there were stretches of time in league play where he was still trying to get his game up to speed.

“It will be valuable for both Richard and the club to have him with us from opening day to experience the natural progression of the season.”
