Fife Flyers have confirmed the signing of Canadian forward Chase Schaber.

The 25-year-old moves to the Elite League from the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals, having previously played in the same league for Bakersfield Condors.

He has also iced for Oklahoma City Barons in the AHL.

Flyers’ Head Coach Todd Dutiaume said: “Chase will be a great pick up for us – he comes highly recommended and his colleagues all speak highly of him as a player and person.

“He’ll give us grittiness on the left side. He skates very well and has the capability to put up good offensive numbers for us.

“Chase unfortunately missed last season due to an unfortunate accident, but this has only made him hungrier for the season ahead and he comes in fully fit and ready go.”

Schaber added: “I’m very excited to be a part of the Fife Flyers for the 2016/17 season – I’ve heard nothing but great things about the fans and community in Fife.

“I’m looking forward to being a part of a very competitive team and meeting some great teammates and people along the way, and I hope to bring some silverware to Fife.”
