Fife Flyers have signed American forward Nico Sacchetti.
The 26-year-old is no stranger to the Elite League having played for Dundee Stars in 2013/14, where he helped the club secure the Gardiner Conference title with 37 goals and 40 assists in 50 regular season games.
Sacchetti started the 2014/15 season in the VHL in Russia, before moving to the Austria 2 league to play for for EC Kitzbühel, where he amassed 31 points from 18 games.
Fife Head Coach Todd Dutiaume said; “Nico is a player that we have been interested in for a number of years.
“His name came up again last month and after coming to an agreement, the necessary paperwork has finally gone through.
“He is a big strong guy with a heavy shot who we feel has the capability of putting up good numbers and give our offensive production a boost.
“The process took a little longer than we had hoped but Nico will join the club this week.”
Nico added: “I’m really excited to join the Flyers for the rest of the season. It’s been a long recovery for me and I can’t wait to get there and get back on the ice.
“I hope I can help the team have a strong second half of the year and finish high up in the standings.”
