Richard Jarůšek will continue his career with the Glasgow Clan.
The 33-year-old forward arrives in the Elite League on a one-year contract, having spent the majority of his career in the top-flight Czech Extraliga.
“Richard is a big body who finishes his checks and goes to the dirty areas to score on the ice,” Clan head coach Corey Neilson said of his nineteenth summer signing.
“After playing many years in the Czech Extraliga, he brings a wealth of experience and is used to playing very competitive hockey at a high level.
“Captain [Deven Sideroff] highly recommended him and I’m very happy to add the size and skill to our forward group.”
Who is Glasgow Clan forward Richard Jarůšek?
Jarůšek holds eleven seasons of Czech Extraliga experience, recording 265 points (132 goals, 133 assists) and 326 penalty minutes in 488 appearances.

The Brno-born forward spent the last two campaigns with the Kladno Knights, for whom he notched 38 points (13 goals, 25 assists) in 104 consecutive games played.
Jarůšek appeared for Czechia at the 2016 IIHF World Championship — and later went on to score three goals in eighteen senior appearances for his country.
How will Richard Jarůšek help the Glasgow Clan’s playoff hopes?
The Elite League has turned into an arms race, with the Fife Flyers, Cardiff Devils, and Clan prioritising physicality as they construct their rosters.
Jarůšek isn’t an out-and-out bruiser — at his peak, he was a 45-point scorer in the Czech Extraliga.
But he certainly isn’t afraid to throw his weight around. And there’s plenty to throw at 6-foot-2.
While capable of playing as a centreman, Jarůšek is a winger by nature.
His powerful stride and willingness to battle for the puck in the corners make him a weapon on the forecheck — a feature of his game the Clan will seek to maximise.
“I’m really looking forward to this new chapter with the Clan,” Jarůšek explained.
“Playing in Scotland will be a special experience, and I’ve heard amazing things about the Purple Army — I can’t wait to feel that energy from the ice.”
Jarůšek has played outside of his native Czech Republic once before as a professional — and recorded 15 points (eight goals, seven assists) in 28 ICEHL appearances for the Vorarlberg Pioneers.
There are therefore no reasons to worry about his ability to adapt to a new league, especially from the middle-six role he is forecast to take up in Glasgow.
In an increasingly competitive Elite League, having strength in depth has taken on new importance.
And Jarůšek provides the Clan exactly that.
