Glasgow’s Braehead Clan 0 Nottingham Panthers 3

Clan, British Ice Hockey
Glasgow’s Braehead Clan saw their six-game winning run come to an end as Nottingham Panthers took the points in a 3-0 win for them.
Despite a good performance, it can be argued the scoreline was a tad harsh on the home side who had matched them for large portions of the game.
Both sides enjoyed spells of pressure throughout the opening period, but couldn’t make them count as the two goalies preserved their areas well.
Brendan Brooks sent a powerful shot just wide as the home side tried to make the most of their early opportunities.
A fight between Landon Oslanski and Jeff Brown got the two sets of fans on their feet, which added to the tension in the building.
Another scrap between Tyler Shattock and Raphael Bussieres proved to be another loud affair as the momentum from that almost led to a goal.
A low Brooks chance forced Panthers goalie Patrick Galbraith into the save before recovering well to deny Burt just a few seconds later on the rebound.
Adam Brace’s chance early in the second needed another save from the Panthers goalie then Jacob Doty saw a close range go narrowly wide.
But it was down the other end as Robert Farmer helped out Alexander Mokshantsev, who poked in from close range to finally break the deadlock.
The visitors got their second in the early minutes of the third as Robert Lachowicz tapped in after good work from Yann Sauve.
Then Jeff Brown finished the game off with an empty net to confirm the points to send Panthers top of the Elite League in the end.
