Glasgow’s Braehead Clan 3 Dundee Stars 2

Clan, British Ice Hockey
Glasgow’s Braehead Clan produced another comeback performance to take the points in a 3-2 win over Dundee Stars.
The Stars were on good form after wins over Belfast Giants and Cardiff Devils in recent days, but John Tripp’s side stopped them in their tracks to move up the EIHL table.
The visitors took the lead after six minutes when Malcolm Gould tried one from the wide right position and managed to find enough space to squeeze the puck in.
Clan levelled a couple of minutes later when a well worked move involving Michal Gutwald and Mike Embach culminated with a sweeping finish from Tyler Shattock.
Stars were in front again by the end of the first when Riley Stadel finished a chance off on the breakaway, combining with Brian Hart to restore the lead.
Mike Embach pulled the home side level again during the second period when his flicked wrist shot left Dundee goalie Travis Fullerton beaten.
And it wasn’t long until the Purple Army were celebrating again as Cameron Burt held off a challenging Dundee defenceman to set up Tyler Scofield with the near post finish.
The Stars chased the game in the third and despite notable chances from Justin Fox and Gould late on, the Clan hung on for their second consecutive win.
