Great Britain U18 ‘D’ man Tom Stubley has signed for Peterborough Phantoms.

The promising 17-year-old spent his junior career in Hull before making his EPL debut last season with the Pirates.

Head Coach Slava Koulikov said: “I’m excited to see Tom as part of our Phantoms family.

“In my opinion he’s the best British defenseman for his age, with good overall hockey skills and has a great future ahead of him.

“That’s why it was a no-brainer to sign Tom as soon as I knew he was available.

“Tom is hungry and has four important summer months ahead of him, to build foundations for the season.

“With his work ethic and attitude I have no doubt Tom will replace Cam (McGiffin) from the start and he will be pushing the rest of the ‘D’ in the second half of the season.”

Stubley added: “It was a tough decision to leave Hull after playing there all my life – the prospect of playing in a top side and working with Slava was too good to resist.

“After the club’s success in recent years and being within touching distance of silverware last season, the aim will be to definitely get some this year.”
