Dundee head coach Marc LeFebvre says he was always committed to the Stars as long as the club continued next season.

Question marks over the structure of the Elite League left the Stars’ future up in the air until the end of April and LeFebvre admitted it was a relief to see things finally sorted.

“We had a good season getting to the play-off final first time in the club’s history and we’re looking to build off that,” he told Stars TV.

“It’s been a roller-coaster of emotions for everyone, especially the fans, making sure we’re going to have a team and now that we have a team let’s get going for next season.

“I think it was inevitable that we had some kind of stuff set out that would help us as a club financially, while keeping our rivals Braehead, Fife and Edinburgh in our Conference.

“We want to win that Conference – obviously now we’ve had a taste of the Final Four Weekend. We want to win this thing now and qualifying for the Challenge Cup is a goal of ours as well.

“We play to win – it doesn’t matter if you have a small budget or a big budget we want to compete and win every trophy.”
