Dundee Stars have signed Netherlands international forward Kevin Bruijsten for the remainder of the Elite League 2016/17 season.

In addition to gaining extensive experience in his homeland, the 29-year-old has previously played in France, Germany and the Czech Republic.

Bruijsten replaces Italian forward Tommaso Traversa who has been released by the club after struggling to make an impact.

Head Coach Marc LeFebvre said: “We felt we needed to upgrade offensively and have more balance throughout our lines. I believe Kevin will certainly help us achieve that.

“He’s an excellent skater and playmaker. I like that he can play on both wings and gives us more offensive options especially on the powerplay

“I want to thank Tommaso for his efforts in a Stars jersey. At the end of the day, this is a business and I have to make tough decisions for the betterment of the team and the club, not only for the short term but the long term as well.

“I wish Tommaso all the best in his future endeavours.”
