Great Britain U20 forward Lewis Hook has signed a new two-year deal with MK Lightning.

Hook enjoyed a productive 2015/16 EPL season, scoring 23 goals with 33 assists in 57 games.

Head Coach Pete Russell said: “I’m delighted Lewis has decided to commit to the Lightning for the next two years.

“He’s a top end player and a big player for our club and for our future. He has great speed, a good skill set and plays at both ends on the rink.

“Lewis is a very driven young man who wants to go as far as he can in a sport he loves. We want to give his the platform and support to achieve his true potential.

“It’s a huge testament to our club and its great supporters that Lewis has chosen to commit to the Lightning longer term.

“This is a huge signing for Lightning and I can’t wait to work with Lewis again.”

Hook admitted he had offers to play elsewhere, but says he’s delighted to continue his development under Russell.

“This is a club that’s going places and next year’s move to the Elite League shows the ambition that’s here,” he said.

“Pete has shown faith in me with the offer to stay so obviously I intend to repay that, for him and all our supporters.

“Everyone says how Lightning has the best supporters in the league, so I hope they’ll be happy I’m staying.

“With the team that Pete’s putting together I’m pretty sure they’ll have a lot to cheer about next season.”
