Manchester Storm 9 Edinburgh Capitals 0

Manchester Storm opened their lead at the top of the table to three points as they inflicted a heavy 9-0 loss on Edinburgh Capitals.

It was a clash between top versus bottom and within the opening two minutes, it was the team at the top that drew first blood.

Dane Byers was the man to get it with a shot that came off Caps goalie Jordan McLaughlin as Manchester put themselves in front.

They added a second as Luke Moffatt took the puck around the net and found the space to beat the Edinburgh rearguard again.

Then it was three as Jay Rosehill finished off a rebound and after the first period, it was looking comfortable for Ryan Finnerty’s side.

Byers’ second of the game made the scoreline more comfortable for the home team and while the night got better for Storm, it got much worse for the Capitals.

The same player completed his hat-trick, followed by markers from Matt Beca and Mike Hammond as Manchester began to ran riot.

Matt Stanisz and Rosehill, with his second, wrapped things up with two more before the end to rack up a massive result for the Storm.
