Joey Martin has signed up for another year in Cardiff after a standout season with the Devils in which he scored 31 goals and 53 assists in 63 games to lead the Elite League points standings.

Martin was voted the league’s player of the year and top forward and also picked up a host of awards from the Devils.

Player/Coach Andrew Lord said: “He is the complete package and was the best player in the league this season.

“He is our top scorer, he is a total pro, he is one of the best penalty killers on the team, he blocks shots, he plays hurt, he is an absolute warrior.

“Off the ice he does all the things right to keep himself in top shape and that is why he has been so consistent for the past two seasons.”

Martin added: “I’m obviously very happy to be back for another season. I love playing here and we love living in Cardiff.

“I think the permanent move to Ice Arena Wales changes things for this team. I’m excited to be in the new arena from day one next season and I’m looking forward to another great year with the Devils.”
