MCKAY LEAVES LIGHTNING

Milton Keynes Lightning have announced that head coach Doug McKay has left the club effective immediately.

The 65-year-old arrived to replace Pete Russell at the club in the summer, with an impressive CV of coaching various clubs in Europe and North America.

Lewis Clifford, the head coach of NIHL side MK Thunder will be in charge when Lightning host Glasgow Clan in tonight’s game live on FreeSports.

A short statement on the Lightning website said: “Milton Keynes Lightning announce today that Head Coach Doug McKay will be leaving his role for personal reasons.

Lewis Clifford of the MK Thunder NIHL, who stood in for Doug until his arrival in the country earlier this season, will take on the role of interim Bench Coach for tonight’s game, whilst players Tim Wallace and Ryan Lannon will take on coaching duties.”
