Manchester Storm’s Eric Neilson has been banned for three games for his involvement in an incident with a spectator st Saturday’s game at Fife Flyers.

Following a review by the Elite League (EIHL) and the Department of Player Safety, Neilson has also received a further six games suspended sentence, which will take effect if he is involved in another similar incident during the remaining games of this season or the 2017/18 campaign.

Manchester have received a fine of £5,000 for failing to control their players and have been warned of their future conduct.

Fife have also been fined £5,000 for failing to control their fans and have been warned of their future conduct.

Both fines will be suspended pending no further incidents during the remaining games of this and next season.

The EIHL also require Fife to increase security at their home games in the vicinity of the away bench, to remove the possibility of an incident similar to this happening again.

Fife will be required to install plexiglass between the fans and the away bench for the start of the 2017/18 season.
