Sheffield Steelers’ forward Levi Nelson has agreed a new two-year deal with the club.
Nelson enjoyed a productive first season in the Elite League, scoring 24 goals and 31 assists in 61 games while building up en excellent rapport with line-mate Robert Dowd.
Steelers’ boss Paul Thompson said: “Levi is in his prime. He had a fabulous season for us, he was our second top point scorer and he and Dowd have great chemistry – it is something we want to continue.
“We signed Dowdy on a multi-year deal and have done the same with Levi, the chemistry is right between those two guys so why look elsewhere?”
Nelson added: “The two-year deal gives some stability for my family – it lets us relax for the summer.
“I haven’t had a multi-year deal since my NHL contract. That was a huge part of coming back. It’s really exciting for me and my family.”
