Sheffield Steeldogs have confirmed that Ali Cree and Robin Grayson have taken over the running of the EPL club.

Shane Smith took the decision to sell the team to be enable him to concentrate fully on Hull Pirates and his personal business commitments. John Gill from title sponsors Bradfield Brewery welcomed the new team.

“We wish them all the luck and they have our complete support,” said Gill. “We look forward to seeing the club continuing to build on the promise they have already shown this season.”

Steeldogs’ Player/Coach Greg Wood also added his support to the new management structure. He said: “They took the time out to come and speak to the team as a whole and explain their plans for the club and all of us are 100% on board.

“On the ice we have had a good start to the season and I think Ali and Robin will help the club kick onto the next level.”

The first game under the new ownership is at Basingstoke Bison Saturday, 7th November. Steeldogs return to iceSheffield the following day to face Bracknell Bees.
