Whitley Warriors are just a point behind NIHL North leaders Blackburn Hawks after a 6-3 victory at home to Solway Sharks.

David Longstaff (2) topped the scoring for the Hillheads outfit as they extended their winning run in Moralee D1 to 10 games.

Two goals each for Marc Fowley and Daniel Abercrombie helped Sharks to a 6-2 home win against Sheffield Spartans.

Thomas Soar and Josh Bruce both scored twice in Solihull’s 7-4 win at Telford Tigers NIHL, and Soar went one better with a hat-trick in the Barons’ 6-1 home success against Sheffield Senators.

Michael Elder’s goal eight seconds from time salvaged a point for Billingham Stars as they recorded a 4-4 draw at home to the Tigers.

The Hawks maintained their unbeaten record in the Northern Cup with a 7-1 victory at Widnes Wild.

In Laidler D2, Sam Dunford’s goal early in the third period sealed a 2-1 win for Blackburn Eagles at home to Nottingham Lions.

Geoff Wigglesworth (2) and Michal Fico (2) led the way for Widnes as they ran out 7-4 winners at Hull Jets.

The Humberside team bounced back with a 3-2 home victory against Altrincham Aces – Ben Sayer, Josh Blissett and Kieran Beach got the goals.
