It’s the final round of regular season games in NIHL North this weekend, with just one issue left to settle.

Sutton Sting and Sheffield Spartans face-off at IceSheffield on Saturday, with a place at the Moralee D1 play-offs at stake.

Sting need to win the game, while a draw or better for Spartans will see them join Blackburn Hawks, Billingham Stars and Solway Sharks in Dumfries.

The two teams have been closely matched in their three previous encounters, with the teams sharing two draws during December and Sting winning 3-1 in February.

There are five Laidler D2 games this weekend. Sheffield Senators v Coventry Blaze and Blackburn Eagles v Deeside Dragons get things underway on Saturday, while Bradford Bulldogs v Widnes Wild, Deeside v Sheffield and Nottingham Lions v Solihull Barons rounds things off on Sunday.
