NIHL South round-up: Brears leads Chieftains’ comeback

Chelmsford Chieftains extended their lead at the top of NIHL1 South to ten points after picking up two road victories over the weekend.

Chieftains won 4-2 at Cardiff Devils NIHL, and followed up by recovering from 3-0 down at Invicta Dynamos to record a 4-3 success – Ross Bears (above) weighed in with a couple of goals.

Wightlink Raiders endured mixed fortunes, winning 4-2 at home against the Dynamos before slipping to a 6-4 defeat at MK Thunder.

Streatham Redskins triumphed 6-0 at home to Thunder and they made it a four-point weekend with a 5-1 success at Cardiff.

Solent Devils also picked up a pair of victories, winning 4-1 at London Raiders and 4-2 at home to Bracknell Hornets.

Cardiff Fire lost their 100% NIHL2 South record after a 3-2 defeat at home to Basingstoke Buffalo, but they bounced back to win 3-0 against Bristol Pitbulls.

Chelmsford Warriors triumphed 8-3 at Slough Jets and they made it a weekend to remember after romping to a 20-1 victory on home ice against Invicta Mustangs.

Daniel Williams hit a hat-trick for Swindon Wildcats NIHL in their 9-3 home win against Wightlink Tigers.
