Guildford Flames’ Head Coach Paul couldn’t hide his disappointment after his team missed a golden opportunity to record a four point weekend.

The Flames won 7-1 at Manchester Phoenix on Saturday and were 3-1 up on home ice against MK Lightning the following day, before the EPL title-chasers fought back to force overtime.

Michael Farm’s goal sealed the win for Lightning to leave Dixon extremely frustrated.

“The game against Milton Keynes was really disappointing,” said Dixon.

“We had enough of the play and the shots to get a win, and had a multi-goal lead at one stage, plus a lead very late in the game.

“Every opportunity was there to have it nailed down before overtime, so from that perspective there is some frustration in how things turned out.

“Having said that, other than the actual outcome, there was a whole lot in the game to be pleased with and, combined with a big win at Manchester, a three point weekend is good production.

“We will turn our attention now to Phoenix who will visit us on Saturday, and hopefully we can reward our home fans with a win in that one.”
