Nottingham Panthers have signed 28-year-old Swede Erik Lindhagen for the upcoming Elite League season.

Equally at home playing on the blueline or as a forward, Lindhagen has made over 500 appearances in Sweden’s top two leagues.

Panthers’ boss Corey Neilson said: “Initially we’ve added Erik to the defensive corps, but he can play any position up front as well.

“He has played in the top leagues in his home country including their Elite divisions.

“His references show him to be a fast and skilful skater with good vision and an ability to read what’s going on out on the ice.

“Having the ability to play forward as well as defence means we have cover in the event of injuries and it also increases competition for ice-time in both departments too.

“He won gold medals at junior level too, so he knows what it takes to be a winner.

I’ve talked to former teammates and former coaches and they all like him and recommended him as a potential winner with the Panthers.”
