Tyler Plews has signed a new two-year contract with Edinburgh Capitals.
The 18-year-old ‘D’ man progressed through the Fife junior system before joining the Capitals last summer. During an impressive debut year he played in 53 Elite League games.
Plews said: “I had a good season last year – I really enjoyed playing for the Capitals.
“It didn’t go quite to plan for the team, but I felt I played well in my first season in the Elite League.
“I now want to focus on improving and Edinburgh is perfect for that. I’m combining playing with a two year Sports HND in Edinburgh, so signing up for the next two seasons is perfect for me.
“I can combine my sporting and educational development in tandem.”
Player/Coach Michal Dobron added: “I’ve heard great things about Tyler – I’m told he had a strong first season having stepped up to Elite level.
“He’s a quality young Scottish defenseman who plays with aggression and I think he will prove an important player for us.
“I’m looking forward to playing alongside him next season.”
