Stephen Schultz has agreed a second season with Nottingham Panthers.

The 28-year-old American scored 19 goals with 21 assists in 47 games for the Panthers last year including the all-important game-winning-goal in the play-off final.

Head Coach Corey Neilson said: “We have set our stall out to bring as many key players from last season back and Schultzy is obviously a key player.

“He has some great skills and we are confident there is even more to come from him.

“He missed a chunk of games because of injury last year but when he came back he got better and better. He knows what our targets are and he wants to be a part of our plans.”

Schultz added: “Nottingham is a great place to play – the fans and the organisation are first rate.

“In the end it was an easy decision to come back. I’m excited – we’ve got European competition to come, unfinished business in the league and two championships to defend.

“It was a highlight for me to win the cup and the play-offs in Nottingham and we all want to do it again and more.”
