Dundee Stars have signed GB U20 defenseman Cam McGiffin from Peterborough Phantoms.

McGiffin moves to the Elite League club after racking up over 140 games during his time in the EPL.

Stars boss Marc LeFebvre said: “Cam practised with the team during the last Christmas holiday period and we liked what we saw.

“He has three years experience in the EPL and we think he is ready to continue his hockey journey and step up to the Elite League.

“He offers good size and he comes with a reputation of being very coachable, something that will help accelerate his development next season.

“We take the view that he is a good fit for the roster. We believe we are taking another positive step in the right direction at the back end, both in terms of the quality of our defensemen and equally in terms of how deep that quality goes.”

McGiffin added: “I’ve aspired to play in the Elite League. Dundee provides one of the best opportunities for a young player wanting to make the step up and I’m grateful Marc has given me this opportunity.”
