Dundee Stars have added young British defenseman Josh Grieveson to their Elite League roster for the 2016/17 season.

Grieveson joins the Stars from the Massachusetts-based Middlesex Brown Bears where he iced for the last two seasons.

He captained the Brown Bears during the 2015/16 USHS season. The New England outfit form part of the United States national junior develop programme.

Stars’ boss Marc LeFebvre said: “We identified Josh as a skater we could bring into the club and could play straight away.

“He is a coachable kid and we think he is a player we can further develop. Josh is a good fit for where we want to go to next season. We are very happy he has come on board.”

Grieveson added: “As soon as I spoke to Marc I had absolutely no hesitation in committing to the Stars for next season.

“I’m extremely excited at the opportunity to join such an ambitious club whose core philosophy is to grow and develop in a sustainable way.

“I hold many great memories of playing hockey against the Stars as a junior and I’m looking forward to seeing old friends in Dundee.

“The organisation has developed significantly in recent times under the management and guidance of the club’s owners and Marc’s coaching.

“The considerable improvements are clear for all to see. I want to be a part of this club’s future and I’m determined to make the most of this fantastic opportunity.”
