Steeldogs’ captain back on the blueline

Sheffield Steeldogs have confirmed defenseman Ben Morgan has signed for his sixth season with the club.

The Steeldogs’ captain brings a wealth of experience to the team and is on track to play his 600th EPL game during the 2016/17 season.

Player/Coach Greg Wood said: Ben is a fantastic leader – I know exactly what I’m going to get from him.

“His leadership qualities, his work ethic and his quality on the ice are undeniable. The way he leads the team is infectious. Bringing him back is the easiest decision a coach has to make.”

Morgan added: “Obviously we want to build on what we did last season, the positive steps that Woody has put in, the brand of hockey that we were playing.

“There’s a positive, feelgood factor around the room when talking to the players, we see that filtering through the crowd too.

“It’s a positive time for the club and it is something that I desperately want to be involved with, in a playing capacity and whatever ways I can help.”
