Sheffield Steeldogs have signed forward Donatas Kumeliauskas.

The Lithuanian international previously played in the EPL for Peterborough Phantoms, helping the club to the play-off title in 2015.

Player/Coach Greg Wood said: “Last year when I was looking to fill that last import slot I was actually looking at Donny.

“I remember him from his time at Peterborough and the impact he had there. When his name came up again I didn’t hesitate to contact him and try and get his services.

“He’s a hell of a player – he skates well and shoots well. He will bring us a lot more offense.

“Just having that chemistry with guys who we know, that will be a benefit to us. I’m looking for him to bring the speed and tempo of play we are looking for.

“We showed last year how we can move the puck around and that attacking flair we can play with at times.

“With his speed and offensive capabilities, he’s only going to add to that.”
