Sheffield Steelers’ boss Paul Thompson has confirmed Marek Pinc, Conny Stromberg and Russ Moyer have been released by the Elite League club.

Pinc and Stromberg joined the club during the season, while Moyer (above) moved to Britain last summer after spending the previous two years in the Allsvenskan in Sweden.

Thompson said: “I wanted to tell the players early that weren’t returning and I think that’s fair to them.

“They all leave as champions – they did a great job for us and should be proud of their part in that achievement. I thank them all – but we move on.

“We’re having a look at what’s out there and we’re looking to strengthen in all areas next year.

“I want to improve goaltending and I want to find a centerman that gets the best out of Mathieu Roy.

“Every position is important and we’ll have a good look around to help us get better.”
