Elite League round-up: Steelers eye semi-final after Desbiens double

Sheffield Steelers are in pole position to reach the last four of the Elite Challenge Cup after snatching a 2-2 draw against Edinburgh Capitals in the first leg of their quarter-final tie.

Mike D’Orazio put the home side in front during the first period, but Guillaume Desbiens (above) brought the Steelers level in the middle session.

The Capitals regained the lead in the 43rd minute through Pavel Vorobyev, but Desbiens grabbed his second of the game with three minutes to play to set the Steelers up nicely for Saturday’s second leg.
