Manchester Storm goaltender Mike Clemente has been named EIHL Player of the Week for the period ending December 24th 2017.
The 27-year-old stopped 22 of the 23 shots he faced against Guildford on Friday night as the Storm snapped the Flames four game unbeaten streak, skating away with a 4-1 victory over the Surrey side.
Clemente followed that performance up with a 33-save effort in Nottingham on Saturday night, also stopping all three of the Panthers shootout attempts as the Storm secured a 2-1 victory after penalty shots.
As a result of the two performances, Clemente posted a 96.5% save percentage throughout the weekend, with the Storm moving back up into 3rd place in the Elite League standings as a result of their success.
The Storm are next in action on Boxing Day, when they welcome Dundee Stars to their Silverblades Ice Arena, Altrincham home (face-off 5:30pm).
