After a brief spell in Italy, Roehl joined Indy Fuel in the ECHL but he has now decided to return to the British game.

Head Coach Omar Pacha said: “Derek brings energy and is a player that competes every single night.

“Playing against him last season when he was in Braehead he was a thorn in our side, and we expect the same compete level from him here in Manchester.

“We are entering a critical stage of our season with our goal being to get into a play-off position, and we feel bringing Derek in now will add a spark to the team that will enable a major push towards our end goal.

“I am sure the Storm fans are going to love his style of play.”

With the addition of Roehl to their roster, Storm have decided to release Matt Caria from his contract. The Canadian scored 19 goals with 26 assists in 40 games for the club.
