Sam Godfrey has agreed a third year with Guildford Flames.

The 22-year-old has already racked up over 200 appearances in the EPL and helped Flames to the EPL Cup and play-off title last season.

Head Coach Paul Dixon said: “Our line-up was short one defenseman from the middle of December onwards, and ended up short by a pair for the final month of the season, including the play-offs.

“It was not originally how the club had pencilled in the season script, of course, but Sam got an opportunity to play a more prominent role than he did in his first season with us, and he took full advantage.

“In addition to his performance from night to night, he showed the desire he has to continue learning and developing himself as a player, which is a key element for any athlete just coming into their physical maturity.

“He was very keen to return, and we are pleased to have him back with us for another season.”
