Top 3 Glasgow Clan players of season 21/22

Glasgow Clan is one of the teams that play in the UK’s Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). EIHL consists of ten teams: Glasgow Clan, Belfast Giants, Cardiff Devils, Guildford Flames, Sheffield Steelers, Nottingham Panthers, Dundee Stars, Manchester Storm, Coventry Blaze, and Fife Flyers. The 2022/23 EIHL season starts on the 9th of September 2022. So get ready for a long league full of surprises. It’s an exciting time to watch the EIHL. Just like the Platincasino live games are fun to play, the same can be said about most of the EIHL games we’re yet to witness in the coming season. 

It’s especially an exciting time if you’re a Glasgow Clan supporter. They haven’t had the most success last season, but building on last season might put them in a better position in the coming season.  Hopefully, their top performers in the 2021/2022 season stay on for yet another season. Here, we’re referring to Mathieu Roy, who wears Jersey number 15; Colton Yellow Horn wears Jersey number 13, and Nolan LaPorte puts on Jersey number 37. Let’s read a little more about their great 2021/2022 season down below!

Mitch Jones

Mitch Jones was born in the US on 8th Feb 1995. He weighs 90kg or 198lbs and 180cm or 5’11”. Mitch plays in a defensive position and puts on Jersey number 6. Mitch Jones had previously played for various clubs like Jacksonville IceMen, Alaska Aces, Plymouth Whalers, Gyergyói HK, and Port Huron Prowlers before joining Glasgow Clan. He kick-started his career by playing for Tier 1 Elite Hockey League under sixteen.

In the 2021/22 season, Mitch managed to play two playoff games and 45 games for regular seasons under Glasgow Clan. In the regular season, he scored 16 goals and provided 25 assists, while in the playoffs; he provided one assist and no goal. During the entire season, Mitch garnered a total of 42 points.

Mathieu Roy

Mathieu Roy is a Canadian professional EIHL player born on 14th Nov 1986. Roy started his playing career at 11 years participating in Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament and Under 18 hockey leagues. He currently weighs 89 kgs or 196lbs with a height of 181cm or 6 inches and plays in a Left-wing position.

Before joining the Glasgow clan, Roy played in clubs such as Florida Everblades, Sheffield Steelers, Rochester Americans, and Albany River Rats. During the EIHL 2021/2022 season, Roy recorded an excellent performance, 59 points scoring 33 goals in the regular season and 0 in playoffs. He also played in 55 games and offered 26 assists during the season, which boosted his performance. This was significantly contributed by high long experience in playing hockey.

Shane Starrett

Shane Starrett was born in the US on 12th July 1994. He weighs 88kgs and 6’5″ and plays the Netminder position. He had previously played for clubs such as Wheeling Nailers, Wichita Thunder, South Shore Kings, Air Force Academy, Lincoln Stars, Sioux Falls Stampede, and so on, and is currently at Glasgow Clan. During the 21/22 EIHL league, Shane played 55 games at playoffs and regular season stages. He scored 24 goals and lost 31 in both stages with two shutouts. Shane is a famous hockey player recording a save percentage of 0.908%.

Conclusion

Plans for EIHL 20222/23 seasons are underway from all the ten teams meeting for the yearly fixtures. Glasgow Clan is getting ready for the new campaigns during the first weekend of September. The Clan confirms participating in Challenge Cup action during the 2022/23 season with other competitors such as Belfast Giants, Dundee Stars, and Fife Flyers.

For Mitch Jones, the next season on requires some improvement on consistency. It is through consistency that the Glasgow Clan will record a big win. Mathieu Roy looks forward to participating in the next 2022/23 seasons when Clan competes with Fife Flyers. Shane Starrett plans to sign in someone he’s comfortable with during the following seasons. He wants someone who likes new experiences and whom they can relate well with.
