Sheffield Spartans are the early leaders in NIHL North Moralee D1 after a pair of 7-1 wins against Sheffield Senators.

Whitley Warriors maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 6-2 win at Solihull Barons – Callum Queenan (2) led their scoring.

Telford Tigers NIHL started life in D1 with a 5-3 defeat at Blackburn Hawks, while Billingham Stars bounced back to form with a 5-3 win at Solway Sharks.

Deeside Dragons made the perfect start to their Laidler D2 campaign after securing a four-point weekend.

James Parsons (above) scored four in their 10-2 win at home to Blackburn Eagles and Dragons followed up with a 7-5 victory at Widnes Wild.

Declan Pearson and Josh Blissett both scored twice in Hull Jets’ 5-2 home success against Coventry Blaze. Rob Perks hit a hat-trick for Nottingham Lions as they won 6-2 on home ice against Bradford Bulldogs.

Streatham Redskins opened their NIHL1 South season with a pair of victories. Joe Allen scored twice in their 7-4 success at London Raiders and Steven Fisher matched the feat as Redskins won 5-3 at home to Bracknell Hornets.

Wightlink Raiders won 7-2 on home ice against Oxford City Stars and 4-3 at MK Thunder. A late Tom Avery goal sealed an 8-7 win for Stars at home to London. Thunder eased to a 5-0 success at Hornets, while Solent Devils drew 3-3 with Cardiff Devils NIHL.

Telford Tigers began the defence of their EPL title with a 6-4 win at Sheffield Steeldogs, but they failed to follow up as they crashed 4-2 at home to Swindon Wildcats. Peterborough Phantoms picked up two victories, winning 6-3 at Swindon and 5-3 on home ice against Basingstoke Bison.

Guildford Flames lost 3-2 after overtime at Basingstoke, but bounced back with a 5-1 success at home to Hull Pirates. Manchester Phoenix won 4-1 at Hull and 4-2 at home to MK Lightning. Bracknell fell 6-3 at Lightning, but enjoyed more luck on home ice as they ran out 5-2 winners against the Steeldogs.

Belfast Giants started their Elite League season with a pair of victories, winning 6-2 at home to Manchester Storm and 2-1 after overtime at Nottingham Panthers. Doug Clarkson hit a hat-trick for Dundee Stars as they won 7-2 at Storm.

In the Elite Challenge Cup, Sheffield Steelers won 4-0 at Coventry Blaze and 8-1 at home to Cardiff Devils. Braehead Clan won 5-1 at Fife Flyers and 3-0 at Edinburgh Capitals. Cardiff won 2-1 after overtime at home to Nottingham, while Edinburgh triumphed 4-2 at Dundee.
