Dundee Stars have added American forward Matt White to their ranks for the 2016/17 Elite League season.

White joins the Stars after spending the last two years in the East Coast Hockey League with Indy Fuel.

Stars’ boss Marc LeFebvre said: “Matt’s style of play means that he is a good fit for the style of hockey we are looking to play this season.

“He has wheels and he can play at both ends of the ice. Matt brings some presence and will be well suited to the wide open ice at the Dundee Ice Arena.

“He has the right tools and physical attributes to acclimatise quickly to the Elite League and he will be excellent in the locker room.

“Matt is a big physical centre who is an excellent skater. He adds some size that we were looking for down the middle.

“He is great on face-offs which is a key to any team’s success. He’s the type of player we’ve been looking for over the last couple of months. We are delighted Matt is now on board.”

White added: “I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to represent Dundee. I know I’m coming to a great organization with a great coach and great fans.

“I talked to a few former players and others who have played in the league and everyone has had great things to say. I’m excited to get it all started and contribute to the team this season.”
