EIHL jumps up one place in IIHF attendance list

The Elite League has moved up to seventh place for average attendance in the annual IIHF study of European league hockey.

The figures for the last 12 months show EIHL games have an average crowd of 2,842, taking the league above the Austrian-based EBEL with 2,794.

Nottingham Panthers are up two places to 38th on the club list with an average of 5,720.

Sheffield Steelers are 64th with 4,830 and Belfast Giants lie 70th with 4,603.

Swiss club SC Bern have topped the standings for the 16th consecutive time, averaging 16,399 spectators.

The Swiss National League A leads all European leagues with an average of 6,882 fans.
