Experienced Basingstoke Bison ‘D’ man Joe Baird has agreed another season with the club.

The 36-year-old now has over 600 EPL games under his belt, having also played for Wightlink Raiders, Bracknell Bees and Swindon Wildcats.

Bison boss Doug Sheppard said: “Joe is a player that everyone listens to in the dressing room, hence why he is the only defenseman to wear a letter.

“He is a leader back there and someone you can rely on. It is great to have him back as part of a great defensive core which serviced us so well last season.”

Baird added: “I’m really looking forward to the new season and I think the team Doug is putting together looks very capable of winning silverware again.

“We have a solid defence and the new forward signings have made us stronger.”
