Nottingham Panthers have signed defender Mathieu Brisebois from French side Gothiques d’Amiens.

The 25-year-old scored six goals and 23 points in 41 Ligue Magnus games last season, having previously iced in the AHL and ECHL.

Panthers’ boss Corey Neilson said: “Mathieu is going to help us on the blueline – he’s a good skating right-sided defenceman.

“His numbers in the pros haven’t matched his junior years, but he knows his job.

“Building a team is all about trying to get the right people to play with the right people. He’s got a ton of untapped offense potential and he’s ultra-competitive.”
