
Edinburgh Capitals have confirmed the signing of Russian forward Sergei Banashkov.
The 31-year-old spent last year with Saryarka Karaganda in the VHL, having iced for the previous seven seasons in Kazakhstan.
Capitals’ boss Dmitri Khristich said: “I have high hopes for Sergei – he has an excellent pedigree and I’ve heard good things about his work ethic.
“I look forward to working with him and having him play a key role in our scoring capabilities.”
Banashkov added: “It is exciting for me to be moving to a new country to play hockey.
“Coach Dmitri Khristich has a legacy all to himself and I cannot wait to show him what I can do.
“I’ve heard great things about the Edinburgh Capitals’ fans and I look forward to getting on the ice to show them what I can do.”
