Captain Keith selected for Wall of Fame

Clan, British Ice Hockey
Glasgow’s Braehead Clan are delighted to confirm that this season’s Wall of Fame banner has been selected as former captain #8 Matt Keith.
The native of Edmonton, Canada, joined the Clan in 2014 from Red Bull Salzberg in the Austria EBEL and went on to play three season’s at Braehead Arena.
34-year-old Keith played in over 150 games for the Clan, leading the club to an EIHL runners-up spot in 2014/15 and our inaugural Champions Hockey League campaign in 2015/16.
Clan Hockey & Operations Director Gareth Chalmers commented: “There was no question from my perspective on who should go up on the wall this season.
“Matt was a massive signing for this club and went on to be a highly influential player for the organisation – in my opinion probably the best signing this club has ever made.
“Matt brought a new level of professionalism and leadership that we had been looking for, his strong Scottish heritage will also mean he will always have a special place in the hearts of everyone involved in the Clan.
“Initially the plan had been for Matt to come over for this Friday’s home game against Sheffield, however the dates didn’t quite work out for both parties.
“We are in discussions with Matt and his family currently looking at various options for dates in early 2018.”
Tickets for the visit of the Sheffield Steelers this Friday (7:30pm face-off) are available now via braeheadclan.com, by calling 0844 499 1700 or direct at the Braehead Arena box office.
