Dates confirmed for Challenge Cup last eight

The Challenge Cup quarter finals were confirmed last night, with the Elite League announcing when the games will take place:

Friday 22 November
Dundee Stars vs. Glasgow Clan (face off 7.30pm)

Wednesday 11 December
Belfast Giants vs. Cardiff Devils (7.30pm)
Nottingham Panthers vs. Guildford Flames (7.30pm)
Sheffield Steelers vs. Manchester Storm (7.30pm)
Glasgow Clan vs. Dundee Stars – second leg (7.30pm)

Wednesday 18 December
Cardiff Devils vs. Belfast Giants (7.30pm)
Guildford Flames vs. Nottingham Panthers (7.30pm)
Manchester Storm vs. Sheffield Steelers (7.30pm)

Ties are a home and away, aggregate-scoring series. FreeSports will show two live games which will be announced in due course.

The Elite League have also announced how the semi finals will work, with the highest-ranked team left in the competition playing the lowest-ranked team left in the first last four tie.

The remaining two teams meet in the second SF. Home advantage again goes to the team with the higher ranking (subject to ice availability). For clarity, the ranking of teams after the Group Stage is:

1 Dundee (Group Winners)
2 Guildford (Group Winners)
3 Sheffield (Group Winners)
4 Nottingham
5 Cardiff
6 Glasgow
7 Belfast
8 Manchester (Play-In Round Winners)
