Dundee Stars’ defender Joey de Concilys says he appreciates the trust shown in him by head coach Marc LeFebvre as he confirmed his return for the new season.

De Concilys played a big part of the Stars’ progress to the Elite League play-off finals weekend and revealed he was only too happy to sign on for another campaign.

“I’m excited to be back and after talking to Marc about the future as well as the offer of a school place, I was happy to sign on and return for the new season,” he said.

“I appreciate the trust Marc has shown in me and when I knew he was willing to have me come back after the success we had last year, I couldn’t have been happier.

“Once I got the chance, I felt I showed what I could do and the Final Four Weekend was one of the best in my career.

“This season will be good with the change in the Conferences and we’ll get to see who reigns supreme in Scotland and I’m looking forward to being back with the Stars next season.”

LeFebvre added: “Joey showed a little bit last season and having missed a large part of camp because he was signed late on, he was a step behind everyone else.

“But as the season progressed, he was an excellent player and he stepped his game up when we suffered with injuries in November and December.

“Joey had a great partnership with Kevin Hart and is a great guy in the locker room, just going about his business and we’re delighted to give him a new contract.

“He’s everything we want at the club and he wants to be here, so we’ve given him one of our two university spots and I can’t think of a better guy to give it to.”
