Deeside Dragons have revealed that Marc Lovell will be taking a break and won’t be icing for the club in the new NIHL season.

In a statement, the Dragons said that Lovell had decided to step away from ice hockey for the forseeable future, citing the balances of family life and a full-time job.

Lovell told the club’s official website: “I would like to thank all the supporters for their support over the years. It was a hard decision to make but I’m grateful to Scott and the club and that they have supported my decision and left the door open for me if I decide to play again.

“I’ve enjoyed playing at Deeside over the years and hopefully will play again in the near future.”

Lovell is still due to play for the Dragons this Saturday for the Claire House Charity Game at Deeside Leisure Centre (4.15pm).
