The first Ice Hockey UK U20 National Finals weekend will take place on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th May 2016.

This season’s finals will be held at Dumfries Ice Bowl in Scotland and future years will alternate between venues in England and Scotland.

The two top teams from the EIHA U20 leagues and the top two teams from Scottish Ice Hockey’s U20 league will meet in semi-finals on the Saturday.

The winners will meet in the final on Sunday, which will be preceded by a special East v West Scottish Under-11 game.

Tickets, which will go on sale soon, will cost £10 per day or £15 for a weekend pass, while children under the age of 16 will go free with an accompanied adult. Exact timings, more information on a format and a full schedule will be announced in due course.

Ice Hockey UK general secretary, Andy French, said: “This will be the highlight of the U20 season across the leagues in England and Scotland. It will be a great way to showcase our U20 junior talent.

“We have already seen at various levels in the UK how exciting a finals weekend can be. I am sure this will be no different and there will be excitement from start to finish.

“It is great to be working with the English Ice Hockey Association and Scottish Ice Hockey to put on such a special event. Dumfries Ice Bowl is a great venue to hold the first event and the 2017 finals weekend will be held at a venue in England.”
