Edinburgh Capitals picked up their first league win of the season, stunning Dundee Stars in a 7-2 thrashing.
Both teams will do it all again in Challenge Cup duty tomorrow, but this victory will set the Caps up nicely when they return to Murrayfield.
Pavel Vorobyev, Dylan Anderson and Marek Tvrdon put them three up inside the opening 23 minutes before Stars hit one back through Malcolm Gould.
Dmitri Khristich’s men kicked on from here as Mike Cazzola added their fourth, with Sergei Banashkov and another from Cazzola making it 6-1 by the end of the second.
Julius Nyqvist scored to complete Edinburgh’s scoring early in the final session with victory more or less assured at his point.
Although Gould picked up his second for the Stars, it made no difference to an otherwise one-sided scoreline for the away team.
