Fife Flyers have confirmed the signing of Canadian forward Danick Gauthier.

The 25-year-old has previously iced with the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch and Manitoba Moose and Florida Everblades, Wichita Thunder, Norfolk Admirals and Tulsa Oilers in the ECHL.

Gauthier said: “I’m really excited about coming to Scotland and playing for the Flyers.

“This will be my first European experience. I’m excited but also curious about how my hockey style will fit in the European game.

“I know I will have to adjust, but I’m also confident I can use my skills to help the team.

“I’ve watched a few videos about Fife and the team. I was happy to see you have good crowds at the games.

“The city looks nice and I was impressed by the beach. I really didn’t know what to expect until I watched those videos.”

Head coach Todd Dutiaume added: “I’m delighted to have Danick in a flyers jersey for the upcoming season.

“I’ve had a number of talks with Mark Morrison and I told him the type of player we were looking for – Danick topped that list for him.

“I had the opportunity to meet up with him and I was impressed by not only his character, but commitment to contributing in any way required to help the Flyers towards a successful season.

“He’ll bring size and grit into our forward line-up and he also has the capability of increasing our offensive production.”
