Nottingham Panthers took a big step towards the Elite Challenge Cup final after securing an 8-0 first leg lead against Sheffield Steelers.

Evan Mosey, Matthew Myers and Juraj Kolnik put Panthers 3-0 up by the end of the first, before David Clarke, Cam Janssen and Geoff Waugh extended the lead to six before the second buzzer.

Kolnik again and Brad Moran completed the rout in the final period.

Steelers’ boss Paul Thompson described his team’s performance as an “embarrassment to their supporters and the organisation” – check out his views on the game in the video above.

Cardiff Devils are through to the final after a 3-1 road victory completed an 8-4 aggregate success against Belfast Giants.

Leigh Salters, Carl Hudson and Joey Haddad got the Devils’ goals, with Michael Forney grabbing the Giants’ lone marker.
