Nottingham Panthers’ forward Chris Lawrence enjoyed an excellent weekend, bagging five goals in two games to help his team record a pair of victories.

Lawrence (above) scored four in Panthers’ 8-5 league win over Manchester Storm and he grabbed another goal during a 3-1 Elite Challenge Cup success at Cardiff Devils.

Patrick Asselin’s overtime strike sealed a 3-2 league win for Cardiff at Belfast Giants.

Sheffield Steelers collected two victories, winning 5-3 at home to Braehead Clan in the league and 5-4 after a shoot-out at Manchester in the cup.

Coventry Blaze crashed 4-1 at Fife Flyers, but they recovered to win by the same scoreline at home to Dundee Stars.

Flyers failed to follow up in the cup at Edinburgh Capitals after blowing a 4-1 lead to eventually go down 6-4 – Matt Tipoff (2) and Pavel Vorobyev (2) topped the scoring for the home team.

Dundee had mixed fortunes in the cup, losing 3-1 at Braehead before bouncing back with a 4-1 home victory against Edinburgh.
